Questions
The things people actually ask.
Licensing, areas, timeframes and cost. If yours is not here, ring 0488 097 616 and ask it directly.
Yes. Nathan Traill holds QBCC licence 15263548, graded Builder Medium Rise, which covers new homes, renovations and buildings up to three storeys. The company is Nathan Traill Constructions Pty Ltd. The licence is on the public QBCC register, so you can look it up before you sign anything, with us or with anyone else.
We have an in house team of carpenters who produce the bulk of the work, backed by a trusted network of subcontractors.
Townsville and the surrounding region, run out of Aitkenvale. That covers Rosslea, Mysterton, Hyde Park, Hermit Park, Mundingburra, Gulliver, Currajong, South Townsville, North Ward, Castle Hill, Belgian Gardens, Annandale, Idalia, Douglas, Kirwan, Kelso, Rasmussen, Bushland Beach and Alligator Creek. We also work regularly on Magnetic Island, including Nelly Bay, Arcadia, Horseshoe Bay and Picnic Bay.
Yes, and we have a few jobs over there behind us now. The island throws up things the mainland does not, including barge scheduling for materials, tight access, ground height variance and natural rock that has to be worked around rather than through. Because we have been through it before, those things get priced and programmed at the start instead of turning into delays halfway through.
Every project runs through Buildertrend and you get your own login. Site photos, daily logs, the schedule and messages all sit against your job, so you can check progress whenever you want rather than waiting for an update. Anything that affects your dates is flagged there as soon as we know.
A single bathroom is usually around three weeks on site once it starts, assuming selections are locked in and materials have landed. A kitchen runs similar, with joinery lead time being the main variable. Whole home renovations are measured in months and get a written program before we begin. Whatever the job, the schedule is set at quote stage and you are told early if anything moves it.
Yes. We work with local designers, draftsmen, engineers and certifiers, and can take a job from a rough idea through design, engineering and building approval into construction. If you already have plans drawn we are happy to price and build from them.
Often yes, though it depends what is being touched. If the work is confined to a bathroom, a kitchen or one end of the house we stage it so you keep a working kitchen or bathroom for as much of it as possible. Where the roof comes off, the house is restumped or the whole place is stripped back, moving out is usually the cheaper and saner option. We will tell you which one it is before you commit.
Every job is quoted after we have looked at the property, because the price is driven by access, ground conditions, the state of what is already there and the finishes you want. You get an itemised quote with a clear scope rather than a square metre rate that moves later. Site consultations and quotes cost nothing.
In North Queensland it will at some point. Wet season delays are flagged as soon as we know, with a revised date rather than silence, which is the part most people actually care about. Programs are built with weather allowance in them so a normal wet week does not blow the whole schedule.
Ring 0488 097 616 or send an enquiry with your address, the type of work and a rough timeframe. We will arrange a site consultation, walk through what you are after and come back with a written quote. Enquiries are answered within one business day.
Staying informed
You should never have to wonder how your build is going.
Every project runs through Buildertrend, the construction management platform we use to keep you in the loop from the first day on site to handover.
You get your own login. Rather than waiting for a phone call or wondering how the week went, you can open the app and see where your build is up to whenever you want.
- 01
Project updates as they happen
Daily logs, site photos and progress notes are posted as the work goes, so you can see what happened on your build this week without having to ask.
- 02
Talk to the team in one place
Messages, questions and decisions live in the one thread against your project instead of being spread across texts, emails and phone calls that nobody can find later.
- 03
Schedule and progress visible
The program is in there, so you can see what is coming up, what has been completed and how the job is tracking against the dates we gave you.
- 04
Selections and documents on record
Approvals, selections, variations and documents are stored against the job, so there is one version of the truth and both sides can go back to it.

Still wondering about something?
Ask the builder directly. It is a quick conversation and it usually saves a lot of guessing.
